Police arrests drug peddler in Anantnag

Continuing its efforts to curb the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested a drug peddler in Anantnag and recovered huge quantity of contraband substance from his possession.

Police Station Srigufwara received a specific information that one person namely Sajad Ahmad Raina son in law of Mohd Afzal resident of Khiram Srigufwara has indulged in drug peddling and has hoarded a large quantity of narcotic substances in his residential house.

Acting on this information, a search team headed by SHO PS Srigufwara alongwith Executive Magistrate concerned raided the said location. During search, the team recovered about 10Kgs of Charas Chura and 1.4Kgs of Charas powder. The accused person was arrested and shifted to Police Station where he remains in custody.

Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation is in progress.
