Flight operation resume, stranded vehicles cleared on Jammu-Sgr NH
The flight operations at Srinagar international airport resumed and the Srinagar-Jammu highway was opened for the stranded traffic after the weather conditions improved in Jammu and Kashmir following two-day wet spell.
Parts of Kashmir, including the world-famous ski-resort, Gulmarg, Sonamarg, Pahalgam and other places experienced snowfall for the two consecutive days from Tuesday.
However, as the situation improved today, the flight operations resumed at Srinagar international airport.
Officials told that some of the flights got delayed in the morning hours, but later all the flights were operated following the improvement invisibility.
42 and 37 flights were cancelled at Srinagar international airport on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively. Moreover, the Srinagar-Jammu highway was thrown open for the stranded vehicles after two days.
The highway was closed for vehicular movement after shooting stones and mudslides occurred along the only road connecting the Valley with the rest of the States.

Meanwhile, the pilgrimage to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi cave shrine that was suspended due to incessant rains resumed on Thursday from the Katra base camp in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district along with the helicopter service.
Due to continuous rains, the pilgrimage to the cave shrine was suspended on Wednesday evening from Katra but resumed this morning after weather improved slightly,? a Shrine Board official said.
The chopper service that too was suspended due to dense fog also resumed on Thursday morning.
The official said the pilgrimage from the new track was still suspended for pilgrims due to shooting stones and landslides.
