Police arrests a drug peddler, 4 gamblers in Baramulla

Acting tough against social crimes, Police have arrested a drug peddler in Baramulla and recovered contraband substances from his possession. Besides, arrested 4 gamblers and seized stake money from them.

Officers at a checkpoint established in the jurisdiction of PS Pattan arrested a drug peddler identified as Sayar Ahmad Bhat son of Ab Rahman Bhat resident of Wagum Pulwama and recovered 20 gms of Brown Sugar from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.

Meanwhile acting on specific information, police party from Police Station Baramulla raided a gambling site at Binner following an input about gambling activities and apprehended 04 gamblers.

Officers have seized stake money of ₹9900/- and playing cards from the gamblers. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody.

Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law stands registered in respective police stations and investigation have been initiated.

Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
