KP community bids tearful adieu to Amit Khosa, a reputed journalist and an ace activist

KP community across the globe is mourning the untimely demise of an ace activist and a reputed journalist Amit Khosa a.k.a Ajay Khosa. Amit was associate editor of Epilogue News Network. He was a part of Panun Kashmir organisation and an on ground activist who devoted his entire life championing the idea and struggle for homeland (Panun Kashmir). He was suffering from a heart ailment for sometime but his sudden death sent shockwaves across the community. Many Kashmiri Pandit organisations globally have released condolence statements describing his untimely passing away as a big blow to the efforts of Kashmiri Pandits in their struggle for return and rehabilitation. Social media is inundated with people sharing personal anecdotes of their unforgettable experiences with Amit.
Amit stood out as a daredevil social activist during the second wave of Covid in Jammu where he coordinated on ground efforts with various groups. He fearlessly, inspite of his medical condition, went door to door even in the most affected covid areas to help the needy. He volunteered and risked his own life many times.
As a journalist, he minced no words and very boldly carried stories which made impact. He was fearless in his reporting and incisive in his analysis.
He was cremated today in Shakti Nagar crematorium in Jammu in presence of the scores of KP community members including the leaders of Panun Kashmir, leaders of other parties, media fraternity, family and well wishers. His body was wrapped in the flag of Panun Kashmir. Many people who attended his last rites said, “His death is martyrdom and it will inspire the generations to come. Amit will be remembered as an epitome of true activism, altruism and compassion”.
