Police solves 02 theft cases in Srinagar; 03 arrested

Police in Srinagar solved 02 theft cases by arresting three accused persons and have recovered stolen property worth lakhs from their possession.
On 03/02/2022, Police Station Khanyar received a written complaint from a person to the effect that some unknown burglars have stolen golden ornaments and cash from his residential house located at Khilafa Pora Khanyar.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 03/2022 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Khanyar and investigation was initiated.
During the course of investigation, officers zeroed in on `02 suspects identified as Umer Gulzar Wadoo of Babapora Habakadal and Shakil Ahmad Shah of Kailashpora. When officers spoke to them they learnt about their involvement in the commission of crime. On their disclosure, the stolen items including 01 Golden Coin (Pound), 2 Golden Chains, 02 Pendants, a pair of Tops, a pair of Ear Rings, a pair of Rings and 02 Bangles worth ₹3 lakh approximately were recovered.
Similarly Police Station Rajbagh solved a vehicle theft case by arresting an accused person identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Shah son of GH Qadir Shah resident of Khanyar. Stolen vehicle Wagon R was recovered on his disclosure. Pertinently, the vehicle was stolen at Jawaharnagar area of Srinagar.
