Teen raped in Jmu, woman abducted
Although the Jammu and Kashmir government is taking stern measures to curb crime against women despite these initiatives a teen girl was raped, five booked and 1 arrested for their alleged involvement in abduction of women in separate cases.
As per reports, a 20 year old girl was today raped in the Rehari area of the city. Police said that the girl was living on rent in the area and was alone in the room at the time of the incident.
Police said that the accused, Mohan Singh, a resident of Chhattisgarh, who raped the girl, was also living in Rehari, adding, a hunt to arrest him is on.
“Pakka Danga police are conducting raids in search of the accused. The police are interrogating his associates living in Jammu. Last Monday, around 5 pm, a 20-year-old girl, originally from the Mandi area of district Poonch, was alone. Mohan Singh, who lives in her neighbourhood, entered the girl’s room raped held.
On hearing the victim’s screaming, another woman living in the house reached the spot. Seeing the woman coming, the accused Mohan Singh managed to escape. After this, the woman reached the Rehari police post with the victim girl and lodged a case against the accused, Mohan Singh”, said a senior police officer.
He said that the police got the victim girl examined for medical examination and recorded her statement. Police are raiding from place to place to arrest the accused.
In another case, Bishnah Police today booked five persons for beating and kidnapping a woman.
The complaint in this connection was lodged by one Mohd Yousuf son of Meer Baz of Chak Keema. In his complaint, he said that his girl was assaulted and kidnapped by a group of five persons.
Based on the complaint, Police have booked them in a case vide FIR No 28/2022 U/S 458 , 366 , 147 , 323 IPC.
The accused have been identified as Iqbal, MohdHussain, MohdYousuf all residents of RS Pura and Mansha of Bishnah.
The case was being investigated by police till last reports poured in.
Similarly, Reasi police today claimed to have recovered a minor girl who was kidnapped from Talwara area on 26th of January 2022 and arrested the abductor.
Police swung into action after a woman lodged a complaint with the Police Post Talwara that her minor daughter (name withheld) went to market and didn’t return back.
Police said that on getting this information a case FIR vide no 17/2022 U/S 363 IPC was lodged at Police Station Reasi after hectic efforts the presence of the minor was established in Gurdaspur, Punjab along with the kidnapper namely Rashpal Singh son of Ajit Singh of Handar, Arnas.
“With the help of local Punjab Police, a police team from Reasi raided the possible places of presence and recovered the missing minor girl from the clutches of the accused in Gurdaspur city and also arrested him on spot”, said SSP Reasi Shailander Kumar.
He said that the medical examination of the victim was conducted by board of doctors, statement of the minor recorded before judicial Magistrate and after completing all legal procedures the girl was later shifted to Nariniketan Jammu.
