Heerath festivity , a symbol of Kashmir’s unique identity : NC

The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Sunday said that it was committed to the honourable and dignified return of Kashmiri Pandits to the Valley.

This was  stated by the Party Senior Leader and Former Speaker Mubarak Gul while addressing series of Maha Shivratri Milan functions convened by the party Minority Wing President MK Yogi at  Purkho, Muthi, Boota Nagar  Kashmiri Pundit Camps in Jammu.

Echoing the sentiments of KP community,Gul  said Kashmiri Pundit youth are staring at diminishing job opportunities. The plight of KP youth, Yogi said was no better than than their Kashmiri Muslim brethren. He rued that incumbent administration has only been indulging in lip service to satiate the issues confronted by the unemployed KP youth. “The incumbent administration lacks a comprehensive and practical road map to address the grievances of our youth. KP youth are fed up of hollow slogans now. All they want now is an end to the politics of bitterness propelled by the communal forces. Our KP youth want to walk shoulder to shoulder with the youth of other communities of J&K and achieve their anticipated career goals and live a decent live,”he said

Gul further said that it was important to understand that rebuilding of the Kashmiri identity in this modern, integrated digital age cannot be done in isolation.”our KP younger generation of Kashmiri Pundits and Kashmiri Muslims are determined to come together to recraft and restore our prized Kashmiri identity together and collectively. NC in its humble efforts will support all efforts in realising this dream,”he said adding “The politics of hate runs so deep in the hearts  of communal forces ,which are contriving to divide Kashmiri comunity on religious lines. Kashmiris have never allowed themselves get overwhelmed by communal frenzy. Our youth want vibrant secular spaces for themselves to interact with each other. The communal forces have only bitterness and bias to sell but our youth won’t allow any such  divisive agenda take toll on the collective  cultural identity of Kashmir of thousands of years,”

Addressing the series of events Yogi said,  “Mahashiv Ratri is an age old festivity that has been celebrated by Kashmiri Pundits  for thousands of years is a symbol of communal harmony for ages.Ours is an inclusive development agenda and we would continue to play a  constructive role to mitigate the sufferings of our Kashmiri Pundit brothers and sisters. Pluralism and unity in diversity have been the cultural mainstay of kashmiri society. Time has come to fight divisive forces which are hell bent to divide J&K on communal, regional and linguistic basis,”he said.

Among others Ashok Koul , Amit kaul , Dr Aamina , Shadilal ji , Bharti, Neeru were also present in the series of events organised following the upcoming Mahashivratri festivity.
