Active caseload dips below 500
With 110 more recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir, the active caseload in the Union Territory has dipped below 500 while 46 new cases were reported from 6 districts of Union Territory.

“The COVID situation has improved across the Jammu and Kashmir. The two districts in Kashmir region including Ganderbal and Pulwama have become COVID free while 14 districts recorded zero fresh cases while 46 were reported from 6 districts of the Union Territory,” an official told The News Now.
Among 46 new cases, 17 belong to Kashmir division while as 29 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 287,112 including 284,490 recoveries and 2,423 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 166,022 including 163,433 recoveries and 2,325 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 463 including 199 from Kashmir division and 264 from Jammu division.
With 110 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 447,923 which is 98.85 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 16 from Srinagar, 00 from Baramulla, 00 from Budgam, 00 from Pulwama, 00 from Kupwara, 00 from Anantnag, 01 from Bandipora, 00 from Ganderbal, 00 from Kulgam and 00 Shopian in Kashmir division while as 29 from Jammu division include 22 from Jammu district, 02 from Udhampur, 00 from Rajouri, 03 from Doda, 00 from Kathua, 00 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 00 from Poonch, 02 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
As per officials figures, 102,252 positive cases including 907 deaths and 101,215 recoveries are from Srinagar, 37,588 including 304 deaths and 37,253 recoveries are from Baramulla, 34,803 including 34,557 recoveries and 237 deaths are from Budgam, 18,416 including 18,215 recoveries and 201 deaths are from Pulwama, 21,717 including 174 deaths and 21,535 recoveries are from Kupwara, 22,419 including 22,196 recoveries and 219 deaths are from Anantnag, 13,674 cases including 13,548 and 118 deaths are from Bandipora, 13,626 including 13,542 recoveries and 84 deaths are from Ganderbal, 16,313 including 16,186 recoveries and 119 deaths are from Kulgam and 6,304 including 6,243 recoveries and 60 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 76,030 including 74,654 recoveries and 1,222 deaths are from Jammu district, 14,762 including 14,613 recoveries and 147 deaths are from Udhampur, 12,799 including 12,547 recoveries and 249 deaths are from Rajouri, 11,499 including 11,284 recoveries and 144 deaths are from Doda, 11,404 including 11,232 recoveries and 166 deaths are from Kathua, 9,083 including 8,956 recoveries and 125 deaths are from Samba, 5,879 including 5,826 recoveries and 45 deaths are from Kishtwar, 7,738 including 7,621 recoveries and 110 deaths are from Poonch, 8,127 including 8,050 recoveries and 69 deaths are from Ramban and 8,701 including 8,650 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 6,151,230 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 32,914 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 463 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 5,662,477 persons have completed the surveillance period and 450,628 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 23,402,757 samples are available. Out of 23,402,757 the number of samples tested negative stands at 22,949,623 while as 453,134 have tested positive, among them 463 cases are active, 447,923 have recovered and 4,748 persons have died.
