Govt nods transfer of 153 Kanal of land for Medi-City in Jammu
Three months after the approval of the Administrative Council, the administration has approved the transfer of 153 Kanal Land for the establishment of the Medi-City in Jammu.
On 16th December, last year, the Administrative Council (AC) which met under the chairmanship of the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha approved the proposal of the Industries and Commerce Department to establish two medi-cities, one each at Sempora, Pampore and Miransahib, Jammu.

The decision taken was aimed at strengthening the health services in the Union Territory and supporting recovery and disaster resilience in calamity prone areas by increasing the Government’s capacity to promptly respond to emergency situations.
An order in this regard has been issued by Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Revenue Department.
“Sanction is hereby accorded to the transfer of State/JDA land measuring 153 Kanal falling under Khasra No. 61-min (18 Kanal State Land) & Khasra No. 62-min (135 Kanal JDA Land) situated at village Deeli, Tehsil Jammu South, District Jammu in favour of Industries and Commerce Department for the establishment of Medi-City”, the order reads.
It shall be subject to the following conditions, “The land shall be used only for the purpose for which the sanction of transfer has been accorded”, it added.
The land shall be put to use after obtaining all other permissions as may be required for its construction from the Competent Authority, including the prior change of land use of the land parcel to the statutory land use for the purpose it is transferred, and payment of the improvement charges if applicable, it reads.
“The permission shall be subject to the adherence of such other provisions of laws relating to Revenue/Forest/J&K Water Resources (Regulation and Management) Act, 2010/Housing & Urban Development Department etc.”, it added.
It would be the responsibility of the user department to contest Litigation over the land and comply with the directions of the High Court of J&K or any other competent Court with regard to the usage of the said land, the order reads.
“No diversion of transferred land for any other purpose shall be made without the prior approval of the competent authority. The Government reserves the right to retrieve any un-utilized portion of the land from the department if the same is required for any other public purpose”, it added.
