United Front must to fight Corona in Rajasthan : JKNPP Rajasthan

Jaipur, August 21: The events which unfolded recently in Rajasthan, as the entire state was struggling to manage the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, have ended with a bitter aftertaste and erosion of public confidence in the elected representatives. This public confrontation between the Hon’ble Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of the state captured the news cycle for over a month at the cost of the public interest.
Sh. Anil Sharma, Rajasthan President, J&K National Panthers Party, criticised these developments evidencing self-serving politics which has hijacked the public discourse and halted the efforts towards discharge of constitutional duties. He added that a public spat was avoidable as the elected leaders ought to have appreciated that their personal-turf war has in effect been a war against the public welfare as this contempt towards each other is not merely personal but also a contempt towards the public, and their mandate, which elected them.
Mr. Sharma requested the Chief Minister and his Deputy to put the past behind them and work together to promote public welfare and set an example for the other states to emulate. He further said that the pandemic should develop compassion and empathy for others in the leaders and a united front is the need of the hour to fight this unprecedented challenge. While the public squabbles are avoidable, their occurrence sets a bad precedent in terms of national polity wherein the principal opposition party of the country has failed to resolve their internal issues and, consequently, weakened the democracy of the country.
He appealed to the Congress party to act as a responsible political party and work towards strengthening the democratic institutions. Bringing attention to the plight of the poor and ‘out of job’ population, he further requested the Chief Minister to bring in welfare measures to alleviate the sufferings of the constituents. He also requested the BJP leaders from the state to pause opportunistic tendencies in this time of crisis and work with the state government to tide over this phase as a united front.
