Govt reconstitutes 21 dev authorities of Tourism Department, LG to head 3

The government on Tuesday reconstituted as many as 21 development authorities of the Tourism Department, constituted in terms of the Jammu and Kashmir Development Authority Act, 1970.

Out of the 21 newly reconstituted authorities of the Tourism Department, Lieutenant Governor (LG) will be the chairman of three authorities, while the rest will be headed by the Chief Secretary.

“In supersession of all previous orders issued on the subject, the sanction is hereby accorded to the reconstitution of following (21) Development Authorities of Tourism Department, established in terms of Jammu and Kashmir Development Authority Act, 1970, with the composition given under each”, reads the order issued by Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, Principal Secretary to the Government.

The development authority includes Patnitop, Pahalgam, Gulmarg, Aharbal, Bhaderwah, Doodpathri, Hygam-Ningli Tarzoo, Kokernag, Kishtwar, Lolab –Bangus-Drangyari, Sunsar-Mansar, Poonch, Rajouri, Sonmarg, Shopian Dubjan Peer Ki Gali, Verinag, Wullar-Mansbal, Yousmarg, Bani Basholi, and Tosa-Maidan Development Authority.

As per the order, Patnitop Development Authority, Pahalgam Development Authority, and Gulmarg Development Authority will have 12 members and will be headed by the Lieutenant Governor.

The other members of the authority include Chief Secretary, Administrative Secretary of Finance Planning, Development & Monitoring and Tourism Department, Director Tourism, Deputy Commissioner, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Town Planner, Representative of Wildlife Department not below the rank of Regional Wildlife Warden, Superintending Engineer PW R&B Department and Divisional Forest Officer D.F.O(concerned).

The rest of the development authority will also have 12 members and will be headed by the Chief Secretary.
The other members of the authority include Administrative Secretary Finance and Administrative Secretary of Finance Planning, Development & Monitoring and Tourism Department, Deputy Commissioner, Director Tourism, Special Secretary/Additional Secretary Tourism Department, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Town Planner, Representative of Wildlife Department not below the rank of Regional Wildlife Warden, Superintending Engineer PW R&B Department and Divisional Forest Officer D.F.O (concerned).

“The members of these (21) Development Authorities shall hold the office for a period of 02 years from the date of issuance of this order”, the order reads.
