Jammu, Srinagar among 47 MHs, cantonments gets Ayurveda Centers

Jammu and Srinagar among 47 Cantonment Board Hospitals and Military Hospitals on Wednesday got approval of much awaited Ayurveda Centers.

As per defence spokesperson, the new Ayurveda Centers approved for 35 out of 37 cantonment t board hospitals included one for Jammu and another for Badamibagh in Srinagar and all 12 military hospitals including 166 MH Satwari, Jammu.

Spokesperson said that these centers opened up for residents of Cantonments boards, including families of Armed Forces personnel and civilians and will provide a niche of Ayurvedic treatment to the patients.

“Ayurveda centres in 35 out of 37 Cantonment Board Hospitals and 12 Military Hospitals of Armed Forces Medical Services have been made operational,” the spokesperson said and maintained that initiative would further popularize the traditional Indian Ayurveda system of medicines to a larger community.

He further added that to smoothly run such centers Ministry of AYUSH provided Ayurveda Doctors.
Jammu, Badamibagh (Srinagar), Agra, Allahabad, Bareilly, Dehradun, Mhow, Pachmarhi, Shahjahanpur, Jabalpur, Barrackpore, Ahmedabad, Dehuroad, Khadki, Secunderabad, Dagshai, Ferozepur, Jalandhar, Jutogh, Kasauli, Khasyol, Subathu, Jhansi, Babina, Roorkee, Danapur, Kamptee, Ranikhet,

Lansdowne, Ramgarh, Mathura, Belgaum, Morar, Wellington, Amritsar, Bakloh and Dalhousie.
The spokepsers further added that remaining two Ayurveda Centers of Cantonment Boards at Shahjahanpur and Jabalpur are planned to be operationalized soon.

In addition to these 35 centers, 12 more centers made operational in Military Hospitals namely Army Base Hospital Delhi Cantt- Western Command, CH (WC) Chandimandir Western Command, CH (CC) Lucknow – Central Command, CH (SC) Pune – Southern Command, CH (EC) Kolkata-Eastern Command, MH Jabalpur – Central Command MH Jaipur- Southern Western Command, 166 MH, Jammu – Northern Command, 151 BH, Guwahati – Eastern Command, INHS Asvini, Mumbai, CH (AF) Bangalore and 11 Air Force Hospital, Hindon.
Earlier, Two MoUs were signed by the Ministry of Defence with Ministry of AYUSH, one for starting Ayurveda Centres at 37 Cantonment Hospitals and another for starting Ayurveda Centres at 12 Military Hospitals of Armed Forces Medical Services.
