73 pc of Class VIII, 34 pc of Class X students had no access to digital devices during pandemic: Survey

Over 73 percent of Class VIII students and 34% of class X students in Jammu and Kashmir during a survey conducted by the Ministry of Education, the Government of India has said that they had no access to the digital device at home during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Last November, samples were taken from over 3650 schools in Jammu and Kashmir, during which 6260 teachers and 79256 students of classes III, V, VIII, and X participated in the National Achievement Survey-2021.

As per the survey report, in Class VIII, over 73% of students in Class VIII had no access to digital devices at home, 78% of students followed the Covid-19 hygiene, and 98% understood the protocol for Covid symptoms reporting.

Further in class VIII, 98% of students were aware of the measures to be taken for the wellbeing of children and school staff, 96% of students experienced anxiety, worry, and fear, and 78% of students were happy being my self at home and 97% of students know about the reopening of guidelines.

The survey further stated that 98% of students of class VIII liked to go to school, 75% of students use their home language as a medium of instruction in the class, 78% of CSWN students get facilitation from school, 97% of students could understand, what teachers teach in the class and 77% students get parental support for their educational achievement.

At the same time, 35 percent of Class VIII students learned many things, including painting, singing, cooking, indoor game, playing a musical instruments, and spending joyful time with my parents, grandparents, and siblings.

The reports further read that in Class X, over 34% of students had no access to digital devices at home, 88% of students followed the Covid-19 hygiene, and 98% understood the protocol for Covid symptoms reporting during the pandemic.

At the same time, 98% of students in Class X were aware of the measure to be taken for wellbeing of the children and school staff. Fifty percent of Class X experienced worry, anxiety, and fear during a pandemic. 51% of students in Class X were happy being by themselves at home, and 98% of students knew about the school reopening guidelines.

Further, the survey read, “97% of students of class X-like to go to school, 73% of students use their home language as a medium of instruction in the class, 78% of CSWN students get facilitation from school, 97% of students could understand, what teachers teach in the class and 77% students get parental support for their educational achievement.

Further, 57% of Class X students learned painting, singing, cooking, indoor game, yoga, playing instrumentals, and spent joyful time with parents, grandparents, and siblings during the pandemic.
