PM package employees: Govt starts process for promotion
The Jammu and Kashmir government has started the process of promotion of employees appointed under the Prime Minister’s special package in Kashmir.
The development comes 10 days after the Administrative Council, which met under Lieutenant-Governor Manoj Sinha, approved the scheme for the promotion of PM package employees.
During the meeting, the government had also said that all posts under the PM Package have been re-designated as divisional-level posts in Kashmir Division. The implementation will be monitored at the highest level. As per the details available with The News Now, a tentative seniority list of 28 employees has been issued by the Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Jammu and Kashmir.

A notification in this regard has been issued by Achal Sethi, Secretary to the Government, Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Jammu and Kashmir.
A tentative seniority list of the employees appointed under the Prime Minister’s Special Package, as it stood on 01-01-2022, is hereby notified for information of, and for inviting objections, if any, from the concerned officials/interested persons, it reads.
“If any official/interested person has any objection as regards the tentative seniority list, he/she shall file his/her objections within a period of 21 days from the date of issue of this order”, it added.
“In case no objection is received within the stipulated time, it shall be presumed that nobody has any objection to the placements of the employees as shown in the tentative seniority list and the a Final Seniority List shall accordingly be notified after the expiry of stipulated period”, it added.
As per the notification, 14 employees are presently holding the post of Junior Legal Assistant and were appointed through direct recruitment in 2020. Further, 2 employees presently hold the Junior Assistant post and joined the government service in the year 2020 through direct recruitment.
Also, 12 employees presently hold the post of Legal Assistant and joined the government service in 2019 through direct recruitment.
