Ladakh admin to hold bye-poll for Timisgam constituency on Sept 13
The Election Department of Union Territory of Ladakh today notified the schedule for holding Bye-Election for Timisgam Constituency of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Leh to elect a new Councillor on September 13.
The vacancy has accrued due to death of the sitting Councilor, Sonam Dorjey, who was elected from Timisgam Constituency, LAHDC Leh.
According to the notification, the aspiring candidate can file their nominations till August 26 starting from tomorrow. The date for scrutiny of nominations will be August 27 while the candidates can withdraw their nominations till August 29.
The polling will take place on September 13 between 8 am to 4 pm. The counting of polls will take place on September 17. The Election would be completed before September 24.
Meanwhile, the UT Administration appointed the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Leh, as the Election Officer for conducting Bye-Election for Timisgam Constituency.
Ghulam Nabi, Executive Engineer (SSD Khaltsi) and Virander Bava, BOO, Khaltsi have been appointed as Returning Officer and Assistant Returning Officer respectively for conducting Bye-Election.
