Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav: Environment Ministry takes up 75 day clean up drive on various beaches across the country

Environment Forest and Climate Change minister Bhupender Yadav stressed on the importance of coastal cleanup. Kickstarting the coastal clean-up drive in Puducherry today, Mr. Yadav said land-made pollution is spoiling the ocean environment across the world.

The minister highlighted that collective effort needed to clean the coastal areas nearby. Mr. Yadav said giving a better sea to the future generation is the need of the hour.

As part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, Environment Ministry has taken up a 75 day clean up drive on various beaches across the country.  Mr. Yadav said this drive will culminate on September 17th,  birthday of prime Minister Narendra Modi.  The minister flagged off an awareness run as part of the campaign.

The Minister also visited Eden beach and inspected the infrastructure facility available there.
