Adhere SoPs for allowing road cut permission: R&B deptt to officials
The Public Works (R&B) Department has enjoined the officials to follow instructions strictly while issuing Road Cut Permissions to various Government and Private Organizations and during restoration thereof.
The instructions have been issued to all Head of Departments/ Executive Agencies of the Public Works (R&B) Department. A circular has been issued by Er. Manzoor Hussain, Development Commissioner Works, PW Works (R&B) Department.
The road cut shall be executed by the intending agencies strictly as per the permission, with due care to the public and road safety, under the guidance of the concerned R&B Division.
The concerned R&B Division shall ensure compliance of intending department in respect of accorded permission, scope, and schedule of work including the time of completion. The road cut permission shall be valid for a specific road and period only. Any deviation in respect of road or period shall warrant action against the intending agency, under law, including confiscation of machinery and equipment.
“However, extension in time may be granted by the competent authority on the formal request of intending department supported with reasons for the delay. The road cut permissions should be henceforth provided with, these conditions in addition to the rules already in vogue”, the circular reads.
