Indian-origin Suella Braverman appointed as Home Secretary in newly elected UK Cabinet
Indian-origin barrister Suella Braverman has been appointed as the Home Secretary in the newly elected UK Cabinet by Prime Minister Liz Truss. She has succeeded her colleague of Indian origin Priti Patel.

Suella Braverman has served as the Attorney General in the earlier government led by Boris Johnson. Also, she was one of the contenders to replace former Prime Minister Boris Johnson. Former Home Secretary Priti Patel has said that she has resigned but will continue to work in the government from the back benches.
