Ready to face elections anytime: BJP to cadre

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday asked its cadre to remain prepared at booth level as the much-awaited assembly polls in the union territory slated to be announced any time in near future.
Aiming to channelize the strategy for yet to be announced polls, the BJP organized a meeting of its senior leaders and discussed upcoming party programs and booth Sashaktikaran (empowerment).

Bharatiya Janata Party’s leaders including its JK President Ravinder Raina, General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Koul, BJP National Secretary Dr. Narinder Singh, MP (Rajya Sabha) Ghulam Ali Khatana, former Dy. CM Kavinder Gupta and others presented in the meetings and held threadbare discussions on poll strategies.
Party sources said that Ravinder Raina informed participants that assembly polls, which are due in Jammu and Kashmir, would be announced anytime.

“The meeting asked the party leaders to lay emphasis on strengthening the party at booth-level with assembly elections in J&K slated to be announced any time in near future,” sources said.

Raina told the party leaders to contact the ground level workers and the common masses hailing from their booth area to apprise them of the works done by the BJP government, both in state and center, and discuss their issues in detail alongside.

Ashok Koul told the party leaders to frequent their visits to every booth. He said that senior party leaders in conjunction with local leaders should contact every prominent person in the booth in order to increase the party’s base and endorsement of its policies and works

However, sources said that exact dates and schedule of elections were not disclosed in the meeting but it was informed at the gathering that J&K elections would be conducted after Himachal Pradesh and Delhi Municipal Elections, where more leaders from the J & K unit are likely to be given assignments for the campaigning.
Moreover, to begin with the local issues, BJP President Ravinder Raina invited more than two dozen social, religious, traders, industries, transporters, business and student organizations at BJP headquarters to discuss its stand on demand of Holiday on the Birth Anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh.

Interacting with the invitees, Raina assured that holiday will be ensured on the birthday of Jammu and Kashmir Last Maharaja.

“Maharaja Hari Singh is the icon of Jammu & Kashmir, who was a great social reformer and patriot. He was first amongst all those who asserted for Independent India challenging the authority of the British. BJP has always been on the forefront of the movement to demand recognition of the efforts of Late Maharaja. Now the BJP will ensure the holiday on the birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh,” Raina said.
