H&ME appoints Mission dir NHM as nodal officer
Health and Medical Education (H&ME) Department has appointed the Mission Director, National Health Mission Jammu and Kashmir as the Nodal Officer for the seamless roll-out of the implementation of Tele Mental Health Assistance and Networking Across States (Tele MANAS).
The government of India is implementing National Mental Health Programme for providing affordable and accessible mental health facilities to all, by way of strengthening and supplementing the service delivery framework of the existing National Mental Health Programme (NMHP) through Tele Mental Health Assistance and Networking Across States (Tele MANAS) in order to achieve objectives.
Such as upscaling mental health services across the country by way of setting up 24X7 mental health facilities, implementing a fully-fledged mental health network and extending services to vulnerable groups and hard-to-reach populations.

“For seamless roll out of the scheme in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir, the sanction is hereby accorded to the nomination of Mission Director, National Health Mission, J&K as Nodal Officer for implementation of Tele Mental Health Assistance and Networking Across States (Tele MANAS)”, reads the order issued by Aman Kumar Dogra, Deputy Director Health and Medical Education Department.
The Nodal Officer as per the order has been asked to ensure the Implementation of the scheme on the National Health Mission framework, setting up of a Tele-MANAS cell in the UT including hiring and training of manpower for the successful rollout of the scheme, setting up of Mentoring Institute by providing manpower and equipment.
Also preparation of District Mental Health Programme (DMHP) Cells at the District level for tier II level counselling. And, to liaison with Apex Nodal Institute for mentoring and monitoring of Tele-MANAS, regional coordinating Centres, Mentoring Institutions, States/UT Cells and any other institution/organization as may be necessary for the implementation of the said scheme.
