Sensex, Nifty fall more than half percent in afternoon trade

The Sensex and the Nifty today fell more than half a percent in the afternoon trade. Both indices declined amid negative cues from other Asian share markets. The Sensex was trading below 61,400 points while the Nifty was trading below 18,250 level.

The Sensex fell 361 points, or 0.58 percent, to trade at 61,390. The Nifty was also trading 116 points, or 0.63 percent, down at 18,228 when reports last came in.
