Sensex rises 161 points, Nifty trades at 18,802

The Sensex and the Nifty on Thursday extended gains for the eighth session in a row to hit a lifetime high level in the afternoon trade.

Both indices logged modest gains amid positive cues from global share markets. The Sensex was trading above 63,250, while the Nifty was trading above 18,800 points.

The Sensex rose 161 points to trade at 63,260. The Nifty also added 44 points to trade at 18,802.
