Sensex, Nifty witness modest losses in afternoon trade

The Sensex and the Nifty today witnessed modest losses in the afternoon trade. Both indices fell around 0.3 percent amid negative cues from global share markets.

The Sensex declined 181 points to trade at 62,000 points. The Nifty also slipped 46 points to trade at 18,451. The domestic stocks logged losses mainly due to fall in IT, Teck and Consumer Durables sector indices.
