Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya to hold virtual meeting with State Health Ministers on COVID-19 situation today
Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya will hold a meeting today with the State Health Ministers on COVID-19 situation. Source said the meeting will be held in virtual mode in the afternoon. It will take place in the wake of the recent spike in cases of COVID-19 in some countries.
The Minister also had a high-level meeting two days back where he noted the importance of being prepared and remaining alert against new and emerging strains of COVID-19. He underlined that COVID is not over yet and directed the officials to be fully geared up and strengthen surveillance.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting to assess the Covid-19 situation, preparedness of health infrastructure and logistics, and the status of the vaccination campaign in the country.
He also reviewed the emergence of new Covid-19 variants and their public health implications. During the meeting, Mr. Modi cautioned against complacency and advised strict vigil.
In view of the upcoming festive season, the Prime Minister urged everyone to follow Covid appropriate behaviour, including wearing of masks.
