Sensex, Nifty witness marginal gains in afternoon trade

The Sensex and the NSE Nifty today witnessed marginal gains in the afternoon trade. Index of top 30 companies at Bombay Stock Exchange, Sensex, was above the 61,200 mark.

The Nifty, index of top 50 companies at National Stock Exchange, was above the 18,200 level. Both indices added amid mixed global cues.

The Sensex rose 51 points to trade at 61,219. The Nifty also gained 18 points to trade at 18,215.
