PG distance mode: SED withdraws seniority of over 100 Physic teachers
The School Education Department has withdrawn the seniority of 100 masters/teachers of physics subject who have attained Post Graduate (PG) through distance mode.
In the year, 2020, a seniority list was prepared by the School Education Department (SED) in Physics subject. The teachers were evaluated to the +2 level.
However, among the list, 100 master/teachers had obtained PG degrees either through study centres outside the territorial jurisdiction of concerned universities or without proper permission from the competent authority.
The department later called for verification of documents. An order in this regard has been issued by the School Education Department.
Referring to government order No. 2164-JK, (EDU) of 2022 dated 29.11.2022 and Govt order No. 2189-JK (EDU) of 2022 dated 16.12.2022. In context to the above-captioned subject and reference we the lecturers in the discipline of physics want to draw your attention towards the following few points, reads the order.
About 100 masters/teachers who have obtained P.G. Degrees through distance mode are figuring in the seniority list issued vide Govt. order No. 156 Edu of 2020 dated 09.07.2020 and were elevated to 4-2 level vide Govt. order No. 251 – Edu of 2019 dated 25.07.2019.
Those P.G. Masters/ Teachers have obtained their P.G. degrees either through study centres outside the territorial jurisdiction of concerned universities or without proper permission from a competent authority and had failed to fulfil the conditions laid down in Govt. order No. 940-Edu of 2017 dated 17.11.2017, it reads.
As per court order and communication received from Kashmir University P.G. degrees In science stream where laboratory-oriented and fieldwork form a core part of the curriculum which is lacking in distance mode of degrees. Hence are not eligible for the promotion. So in the light of the above facts we humbly request your good self to withdraw the placement in the discipline of physics of masters/teachers, it reads.
In the meantime, the Directorate of School Education Officers Jammu/Srinagar had called for verification of Post Graduate degrees of more than 1500 teachers who obtained the same through distance mode in the discipline of Zoology, Botany, and Mathematics.
