Fencer Shreya shines in World Cup

Ace fencer of Jammu and Kashmir, Shreya Gupta gave an excellent display of fencing in the World Cup held at Budapest in Hungary from January 7 to 8, wherein she reached the knockout stage after winning pool matches.

In the pool matches, she defeated Hungary fencer by 5-3, France fencer by 5-4 and also defeated Romanian fencer by 5-1 in one sided match. The other women fencers from India including Kritarthi Kotwal of J&K, Baby Reddy and Gauri of Telangana failed to qualify the pools besides giving their best efforts.
