Probe ordered against then CMO Anantnag
The Health and Medical Education (H&ME) Department has ordered an inquiry against the then Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Anantnag for making an illegal appointment and subsequent construction of service.
As per the information available, the then Chief Medical Officer, Anantnag illegally appointed Muzamil Mushtaq as a Nursing orderly without following due process of Law. Muzaffar Ahmad Rather, Chief Accounts Officer, Government Medical College, Anantnag has made an inquiry officer in this regard, who shall submit the report in one month.
“Sanction is, hereby, accorded to the appointment of Muzaffar Ahmad Rather (JKAS), Chief Accounts Officer, Government Medical College, Ananmag as Inquiry Officer to enquire into the illegal appointment made by the then Chief Medical Officer, Anantnag in respect of Muzamil Mushtaq as Nursing Orderly (son of Mohammad Mushtaq Bhat, the then Senior Assistant, Kulgam) and subsequent construction of his Service Book by the then Chief Medical Officer, Kulgam without following due procedure of law”, reads the order issued by Bhupinder Kumar, Secretary to the Government H&ME Department.

As per the order, the Chief Medical Officer, Kulgam/Anantnag shall provide all the necessary inputs/documents/case files of the official to the Inquiry Officer in order to complete the enquiry in a time-bound manner.
The inquiry officer shall submit its report within a period of one month from the date of issuance of the formal order along with specific recommendations for eking further course of action against the erring officers/officials who had made a such illegal appointment and also suggest the course of action against the applicant who has been engaged illegally by the then Chief Medical Officer, Anantnag in terms of the relevant rules governing the subject matter, the order reads.
