Sensex rises 107 points; Nifty adds 29 points in afternoon trade

The Key domestic share markets today, March 22 rose marginally in the afternoon trade. The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange was trading near the 58,200 level while the Nifty at the National Stock Exchange was hovering above 17,100 points.

Both domestic indices rose amid positive global cues. Share markets globally logged gains after the rescue of Credit Suisse Bank. While the rescue measures for the US banks in crisis boosted investor risk appetite, the global financial system uncertainties limited the gains. Investors also awaited the outcome of a Federal Reserve meeting, scheduled to come later today. The Sensex rose 107 points, or 0.18 percent, to trade at 58,182. The Nifty also added 29 points, or 0.17 percent, to trade at 17,136 a short while ago. At the forex market, the rupee was trading at 82 rupees and 67 paise against the US dollar in the afternoon deals.
