Sensex, Nifty witness losses in afternoon trade

The Sensex and the Nifty today witnessed losses in the afternoon trade. The BSE Sensex was trading below the 61,200 mark while the NSE Nifty was trading near 18,000 level.

Both stocks fell  amid mixed global cues. The Sensex declined 179 points or 0.3 percent to trade at 61,176. The Nifty was also 66 points or 0.4 percent down to trade at 18,081, a short while ago.
