Sarwanand Premi’s family praises cracking of assassination case of Moulvi Farooq, urge LG to reopen Premi and his son’s case on similar pattern.

Shri Rajinder kaul premi, with his eyes moist said that his illustrious father ,& beloved younger married brother verinder(27) were first kidnapped from their residence in the late night of April 28,1990 & latter on assassined ,when their bodies were recovered. Rajinder said that the militant kidnappers looted & ransacked their entire house ,after forcing their entry in their house, on the pretext of asking some questions from the learned teacher, who was so popular in the area, as they meant no harm to this lone pandit, family living in that area ,who according to these militants was helping their muslim neighbours in their hour of need. These terrorist had the sworen in the name of Allah, Quran, Mohamad, Haj, Roza etc only to trap their prey. The promised their family that they will bring back both the father & son duo safely , tomorrow & will love to take tea ,as our commander waiting outside the house has instructed us. On this promise both father & son duo were take with them, along with the looted property viz cash, jewellery watches, precious clothing, pashmina shawals, besides rare books& manuscripts, after packing these in emptied bags & suit case.

Rajinder further said that after painful wait of two days they were informed of the sad occurrences.

Although an FIR 45/90 was registered in police station Doru Anantnag, but this case was closed as untraced after after a brief period, as no effective & expeditious investigation was done, although this case was first of its kind in the area & special case , investigation as expected was not taken up.

This was a severe blow to the belief of the family stood far & only in this back drop the family

migrated from the valley much against their wishes.

A press note issued by the Govt: then said ,”Eight arrests have been made ,suspected to be involved in this case” but latter was closed as untraced, which has further shocked & wrecked the family.

Not only this their ancestral local temple was demolished & desecrated in 1992.

Their native residential houses & cow shed torched in 1998.

Although the family had approached the authorities with the request of handing this famous & unique case to CiB for an expeditious & effective investigations ,but due to unknown reasons was not allowed by the J&K Govt then.

The family said that despite the directions of our own state Human Rights Commission (SHRC) in its DB Judgement of 22.2.2012,inter alia, recommended for reopening of this case for a logical conclusion.

Rajinder further informed that even directions from NHRC, have also gone unheard.

The family once again has urged & impressed upon the UT J&K LG as well GOI, MHA, reiterating its long pending demand for not only reopening of this case but also handling over this case to a logical conclusion, so as bring the culprits of this whole conspiy to justice. The family has once again requested the LG UT Shri Manoj Sinha ji for his personal intervention in this long pending case for restoration of long pending justice to this front line terrorist victim family of a well known Freedom-fighter, famous scholar -Literateur, Patriot, Gandhian Social-reformer & awardee.
