Policeman killed due to electrocution after truck hits electric pole

A policeman was killed due to electrocution when an LP truck hit an electric pole in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

   The incident occurred in the Soibugh area of the district.

  Eyewitnesses told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that a speeding LP Truck (JK015A- 7018) rammed into an electric pole. The power lines came down crashing and a biker came into their contact.

    He was taken to hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

   The deceased was a police constable identified as 28-year-old Ishfaq Majeed, a resident of Paimus village of Budgam.

  Police have taken cognizance of the incident and registered a case under relevant sections of law.

  Meanwhile, the truck driver has been arrested and the truck seized. [KNT]
