Indian Army braces up for Yoga Day at Saraswati Ghat in Sangam Nagri, Prayagraj

108 Bravehearts of the Indian Army at Prayagraj will be attempting 108 Surya Namaskars on the International Yoga Day at the banks of River Yamuna.

Surya Namaskar plays a pivotal role in a person’s routine by marshaling one’s mind and body in synchronicity with nature. This it is an essential part of the regime which helps in providing complete fitness.

The message is to remain fit following the culture and knowledge gained from our ancestors. The participants are from various formations at Prayagraj which include OD Fort, Purva Uttar Pradesh Sub Area and Chheoki Station.

Saraswati Ghat is a picturesque Ghat on the northern bank of river Yamuna. It is a few metres away from Triveni Sangam where the abundant dark waters of River Yamuna merge with the lighter blue Ganga River and the River Saraswati which joins rather secretly in the depths of Sangam.

It is known to give a rare glimpse at Saraswati Kund just before the confluence. Yoga at this place is a mystic, rejuvenating and memorable experience in itself.
