Afghanistan beat Sri Lanka by 7 wickets in Pune

In ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, Afghanistan defeated Sri Lanka by 7 wickets at MCA Stadium in Pune last night. Afghanistan achieved the target of 242 runs losing 3 wickets in 45.2 overs. Azmatullah Omarzai scored 73 not out, while Afghanistan skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi remained not out at 58. Rahmat Shah also scored 62 runs.

Earlier, opting to field, Afghanistan dominated the proceedings as they kept on scalping wickets at regular intervals. Fazalhaq Farooqi’s four-wicket haul helped Afghanistan to bowl out Sri Lanka for 241 in 49.3 overs.

Today, Pakistan will take on Bangladesh at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The match will start at 2 PM.
