Health Minister says Modi government takes steps for women’s livelihood and progress along with maintaining better gender ratio in country
The government has taken several initiatives for equal opportunities and the welfare of women along with ensuring their safety and security. Briefing media in New Delhi today, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said the Narendra Modi government has taken several steps for women’s livelihood and progress along with maintaining a better gender ratio in the country.

He said One Nation -One Helpline – 181 has been started to ensure women’s security in the country. He added that so far 703 One Stop Centres have been set up across the country to provide a range of integrated services under one roof including police facilitation, medical aid, legal aid and counseling, psycho-social counseling, and temporary shelter to women affected by violence or in distress. The Minister also highlighted steps including 33 percent reservation to women in the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies. Mr. Mandaviya also talked about government measures to provide employment to women.
