Christmas celebrated in Kashmir
Srinagar, Dec 25, KNT: The Christian community Monday celebrated ‘Christmas’ with religious fervor amid dense fog and freezing temperatures in Kashmir Valley.
The main function was held at the Catholic Church at Maulana Azad Road, Srinagar, where a large number of members of the community attended the mass prayers.
Men, women, and children participated in the prayers. The Muslim brethren greeted them throughout the day.
Christmas is an annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ (Esa), observed primarily on December 25 as a religious and cultural celebration among Christians around the world.
At ski-resort Gulmarg, and in Baramulla, Christian community visited the church and offered mass prayers. [KNT]
