Enhance monthly cash assistance of Kashmiri migrants: Vinod Pandita

JAMMU, JUNE 30: Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party – JKAP State Coordinator Displaced Kashmiri Pandits of Jammu Division, Vinod Pandita has appealed Government of India and Lt. Governor of J&K to enhance the meager monthly cash Assistance of Displaced Kashmiri Pandits living in exile from last more than thirty years forthwith.

In a statement issued to press here today, Pandita said that relief holders of Kashmiri displaced community are facing a lot of hardships to maintain their families and eke out their overall livelihood on a meager monthly cash assistance of Rupees 13000 which needs immediate review for enhancement on humanitarian grounds.

Pandita said that keeping in view the high price rise in daily essential commodities etc., in the present times, rupees thirteen thousand is a quite meager amount to run a family affair and has appealed Government of India and Lt. Governor of J&K to initiate urgent remedial measures for its enhancement from a meager amount of Rupees 13000/- to Rs 25000/- per month at least on extreme humanitarian grounds so that they are able to maintain their families smoothly as well fulfill the long pending demand of the community whose maximum socio- political leaders have been strongly advocating and struggling for its enhancement since last many years.

Pandita further said Apni Party realizes the pain and agony of this Displaced community and is committed to raise and highlight their genuine demands with the concerned authorities till they are led to its logical conclusion.
