23 militants declared proclaimed offenders
Jammu, Jan 1, KNT: Police Monday said that a court in Jammu and Kashmir has declared 23 militants from Kishtwar district proclaimed offenders. All these militants have currently been operating from across the border.
The special Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) court in Doda gave them a month to appear before it in connection with cases registered against them, failing which their properties will be attached, officials said.
With Monday’s court order, the total number of proclaimed offenders in Kishtwar stands at 36, they said.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Kishtwar, Khalil Poswal said that 23 militants from Kishtwar operating from across the border have been declared proclaimed offenders by the UAPA special court in Doda,”.
He said 13 militants were declared proclaimed offenders by the court on September 16. He added that there are 36 militants from Kishtwar who are operating from Pakistan at present. [KNT]
