Home Minister Amit Shah says, around 26 thousand crore rupees of poor across country have been saved because of Jan Aushadhi Kendras during last nine years

Union Minister for Home and Cooperation Amit Shah has said that in the last nine years, around 26 thousand crore rupees of the poor across the country have been saved because of the Jan Aushadhi Kendras. He was addressing National PACS Mega Conclave in New Delhi on Primary Agricultural Credit Societies PACS as Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra. Mr Shah said, earlier, Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra were mostly situated in urban areas to benefit poor citizens. He said, medicines starting from 10 to 30 rupees were provided to beneficiaries but mostly in urban areas. The Cooperation Minister said, but with PACS, now farmers and poor from rural areas will be able to get affordable medicines

In his address, Minister for Chemical and Fertilizers Mansukh Mandaviya said, that in the last few months, more than four thousand PACS have registered online for this initiative. He said, more than 2300 societies have received preliminary approval and out of which 500 PACS have also started Jan Aushadhi Kendras.

On the occasion, the Ministers presented store codes to PACS in five states for the operation of Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra.

Minister of State for Cooperation B L Verma, Secretary Cooperation Gyanesh Kumar and Secretary Pharmaceuticals Arunish Chawla were present on the occasion among others.
