PM Modi meets BJP MPs from all northeastern states

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday met BJP MPs from all northeastern states. The MPs discussed various issues including the Assam-Mizoram border dispute.

After the meeting, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said, during the meeting, the MPs gave a memorandum to the Prime Minister about parties like Congress politicking Assam- Mizoram border issue. Mr Modi told the BJP MPs that his love and affection for Northeast is natural and urged them not to look at it from the prism of politics.

The BJP MPs in the memorandum said, series of Confidence Building Measures have taken place over last few days, yet actions of Congress remain mischievous.

On 26th of July, six Assam Police personnel and one civilian were killed and more than 50 people injured in a violent clash between the Police of the two states in Cachar district.
