Masks and Sanitizers distribution drive organized in Jammu by Seva Foundation
Jammu, 9 August 2021: Masks and Sanitizers distribution drive was organized by NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) Seva Foundation in KC Chowk and Parade Vegetable Mandi, Jammu. Main aim of this drive was to raise awareness about the usage of masks and sanitizers these days when the third wave might hit us anytime. Keeping in view of the rising cases in other states, Seva Foundation launched this campaign in the Jammu region to provide Free Masks and Sanitizers to all the Local road side vendors, Auto Drivers, Vegetable and Fruit sellers.
The Masks and Sanitizers Distribution Drive was coordinated by Mr. Nitish Gupta (Secretary, Seva Foundation) and Mr. Suraj Koul (Joint Secretary & PRO, Seva Foundation) along with the other members of NGO. Vegetable and fruit sellers and road side vendors were the major beneficiaries of this drive as they are in daily contact with the rest of the population and thus can initiate a chain if not taken care of.
Mr. Pankul Abrol and Mr. Rohan Sharma (Advisory Board Members) interacted with the local vendors in local Dogri language to create maximum awareness among these sellers as the cases are rising again in other states. Mr. Pankul made an appeal to all the sellers to make proper use of masks while selling their items. He asked the sellers to use Sanitizers and wash hands at regular intervals so as to reduce the chances of spread of Corona Virus.
During the drive around 120 washable cloth masks and more than 120 sanitizers were distributed amongst the beneficiaries. The drive was also a means to educate and aware every street vendor and seller about the proper Covid 19 precautions which often get violated every now and then. Mr. Vikas Pandita (Chairman, Seva Foundation) said that in coming days our team will expand this distribution drive by covering other areas of Jammu region as well. Mr. Vardaan Bassan, Mr. Suhil Koul, Miss Srishti Koul, Mr. Deepak Bhan, Mr. Ashish Koul, Mr. Ashish Sharma and others were also present during this drive and they assisted the team in smooth functioning.
