Lt Governor assured the members of the delegation that all their genuine issues would be looked into meticulously for redressal.
On behalf of the Displaced Kashmiri Hindu Pandits, the following grievances are put up for your kind considerations and favourable decisions please:
*Economic Rehabilitation:-*
1. Prior to consensus of Kashmiri Pandits, Govt. should uplift the standard of living of KP’s at their present settlements. Also, Keeping in view the present market hike of essential goods and services, Monthly cash assistance should be enhanced from Rs 110/- to Rs 250/- per day.
2. A sympathetic consideration towards the over-aged educated unemployed youth among Kashmiri Pandit Community needs to be revisited and problems faced by them during the period of exile be sorted out. It is suggested that One Time Compensation and interest free loans upto Rs 50 lakh be considered for such youth to overcome their pathetic condition and making the future safe.
3. The much hyped employment package announced to KP’s by GOI has not been properly implemented properly till date and only 4000 youth have been absorbed in under the package. Remaining posts under PM Package be filled and other approved schemes launched by Govt. Of India be undertaken and implemented on priority basis for the development and welfare of KP’s.
4. A special recruitment drive in Jammu and Kashmir police with 10 yrs age relaxation be announced in favour of KP unemployed youth to address their plight and pathetic condition and also render their service for the cause of J&K and Nation on the whole.
5. The displaced KP Govt. employees though small in number should be treated on duty and be given promotion and other entitled service benefits.
6. Rs one crore compensation for left over property be given to every KP family. It is here to mention that only half of the assessed ex-gratia for gutted and damaged property was given to the displace KP families and still half of the relief is pending with the Govt. of UT of J&K.
7. Special Scholarship schemes launched by GOI for the students of UT Jammu and Kashmir, studying outside J&K should be implemented for KP’s as well.
8. A Kashmiri Pandits Development Council and Board be constituted to look after the temples and shrines under the control of various KP Trusts and Committees. Monitoring of funds for welfare and development of these Hindu temples and shrines in the UT be maintained and controlled by GOI.
9. Accommodation as promised at the time of appointment under PM Package employees be upgraded from 1 bhk to 2bhk as per Sheikh pora accommodation pattern.
10. As a confidence building measure amongst KP’s, recently passed orders by GAD needs to be revoked immediately and declared null and void. Basic and Fundamental facilities be given to the KP employees serving in the valley since 2008 as per the declaration made by the then PM of India.
Political status
1. Being the microscopic community one KP Member Parliament should be nominated to the Indian Parliament and Five MLA’s for the State/UT Legislature to represent the community.
2. As already recommended by the Minority Commission of India, KP’s be given a Minority Status being the microscopic community in the UT of J&K.
Health facilities to Jagti
Though Jagti Camp comprises of 20000 Kashmiri Pandits, no proper health facility is available. Existing 40 bedded Hospital at Jagti township should be made fully functional alongwith all modern and latest amenities and infrastructure. Proper supply of medicine drugs and instruments other facilities like digital x-ray , ultra sound machine, Labs, ENT treatment Clinic and Ambulance be made available on immediate basis for health safety and security of the deprived KP Community.
