JKRDD halts salaries over poor performance under MGNREGA

The Jammu and Kashmir Rural Development Department (JKRDD) has ordered the withholding of salaries for the Block Development Officer and field staff of Block Tral due to poor performance under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA).

 According to the news agency Kashmir News Trust, the decision was made following a review of the Management Information System (MIS) reports, which indicated that Block Tral is lagging in key performance indicators (KPIs). The directive to withhold salaries will remain in effect until further notice, according to the official order.

The Rural Development Department issued the order under reference number DRDK/Estt/11037-40.

 Also, the copies of the order have been sent to the Secretary to the Government, Department of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, the Assistant Commissioner Development in Pulwama, the Block Development Officer in Tral, and the Treasury Officer in Tral for information and necessary action. (KNT)
