Indian athletes to aim for podium finish

At Paris Paralympics Games, Indian athletes will aim for podium finish on Day 9 in Power Lifting and multiple disciplines of Athletics.

In athletics, Dipesh Kumar will aim for a medal in Men’s Javelin Throw F54 final, while in Men’s High Jump, Praveen Kumar will be eyeing glory in Men’s High Jump T64 final. In powerlifting, Kasthuri Rajamani will be in action in women’s 67kg final.
The event will start at 8:30 PM IST. In the evening session of athletics, Bhavanaben Ajabaji Chaudhary will be in action in Women’s Javelin Throw F46 Final. The event will start at 10:30 PM IST. In the final medal event of the day for India, Soman Rana and Hokato Hotozhe Sema will be eyeing a podium finish in Men’s Shot Put F57 Final. The competition will begin at 10:34 PM IST.
In canoeing, Yash Kumar qualified for the semi-finals after finishing sixth in Men’s Kayak Single 200m KL1 Heat 1, while Prachi Yadav too qualified for the semi-finals after finishing fourth in Women’s Va’a Single 200m VL2 Heat 1.
Other Indian athletes will also be in action in various qualifying events during the day. In athletics, after finishing at a heart-breaking fourth position in the women’s 100m T12 final, Simran will be in action in the Round 1 of Women’s 200m T12. Indian para-runner Dilip Gavit will be in action in Men’s 400m T47 Round 1 at 2:50 PM IST. In canoeing, Pooja Ojha will be in action in Women’s Kayak Single 200m KL1 Heats.
India are currently at 16th spot in the medal tally with a total of 25 medals, including 5 gold, 9 silver and 11 bronze. With only a few days left for the Paralympic games to conclude, India will be eyeing for a grand finish in Paris.
