India’s Covid vaccination coverage crosses 60 crore mark
More than 60 crore 38 lakh vaccine doses of COVID-19 have been administered in the country so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive. Over 80 lakh 40 thousand vaccine doses were administered to the eligible beneficiaries in the country during the last 24 hours. Union Health Ministry in a statement said that the country reported 46 thousand 164 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. The country’s active caseload is currently at three lakh 33 thousand and 725. The active cases constitute 1.03 per cent of the total reported cases so far.

The Ministry said, a total of 34 thousand 159 patients also recovered from the infection during the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to more than three crore 17 lakh 88 thousand. The recovery rate currently stands at 97.63 per cent. The Ministry said, weekly positivity rate currently stands at 2.02 per cent which is less than three per cent for last 62 days. Daily positivity rate is at 2.58 per cent which is less than three per cent for last 31 days.
The Ministry said, testing capacity has been substantially ramped up and more than 51.31 crore tests for COVID-19 have been conducted so far. Yesterday, more than 17 lakh 87 thousand tests for COVID -19 were conducted.
