J&K’s Upper Reaches Receive Light Snowfall, Rain in Plains
Light To Scattered Snow, Rain Expected For Next 48 Hours

A weak Western Disturbance is currently impacting Jammu and Kashmir, bringing light rain and snowfall to various parts of the Union Territory. The impact is expected to continue until the early hours of November 12, MeT said.
According to the latest forecast issued by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) in Srinagar, light to scattered rain and thunderstorms are expected over Jammu & Kashmir for the next 24 hours. Light snowfall is expected in the upper reaches.
Specifically, the Kashmir division may experience isolated thunderstorms and lightning on November 11-12, while other regions are expected to remain dry, according to the Associated News Bureau (ANB).
The extended outlook over the subsequent two days (November 12-13) predicts predominantly dry weather across Jammu & Kashmir. However, scattered showers are forecasted to return from November 14 through 16, especially in the Kashmir division, before the weather returns to dry conditions on November 17.
District Weather Summary:
- Srinagar: Temperatures are expected to reach a high of 18°C and a low of 5°C under a mainly clear to partly cloudy sky.
- Jammu: With a high of 28°C and a low of 16°C, the city will experience a mainly clear sky.
- Muzaffarabad and Mirpur: Clear to partly cloudy skies are forecasted, with temperatures expected to reach highs of 24°C and 25°C, respectively.
Precautions: Residents in affected areas are advised to take precautionary measures to avoid potential disruptions caused by thunderstorms. (ANB)
