Rajouri Mysterious Deaths: Multi-Agency Probe Underway, Says Omar Abdullah

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Thursday assured that the investigation into the mysterious deaths in Rajouri’s Badhaal village is underway, and the government will soon uncover the truth behind the tragic incidents.
He revealed that preliminary findings have ruled out the presence of any virus or bacteria, suggesting that the cause of the deaths may be more complex.

“The investigation involves a multi-agency approach, with medical teams, a Special Investigation Team, and an inter-ministerial team led by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) working together to ascertain the reasons behind the deaths. The teams are leaving no stone unturned, collecting samples and conducting tests to determine the cause of the mysterious illness,” he said.

Omar Abdullah said that the situation is dire, with 17 people having lost their lives to the unknown illness, and four more, including three siblings, currently undergoing treatment. “The government has taken measures to contain the situation, declaring the Badhaal village a containment zone and restricting public gatherings to prevent further spread of the illness.” [KNT]
