Let us Pledge to Make Bharat Viksit: Pathania Inaugurates 29th Mahashivratri Mela

Jammu, Feb 26, ANB: As part of the annual celebration of Maha Shivratri, a grand mela was organized, showcasing stalls from various departments with the aim of encouraging public participation and promoting awareness in different spheres of life. This vibrant event took place at the Aap Shambhoo Temple Khoon, where thousands of devotees gathered to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva.

Various stalls were set up to inform people about key government schemes, including PM Vishwakarma, PMAY (G) (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin), and other initiatives like the Swachh Bharat Mission, Ayushman Bharat, and Ujjwala Yojana. Later, Pathania also paid obeisance and became part of grand celebrations at Apshambhu Temple Matt, Manwal, Shiv Temple Meneh, Shiv Temple Seen Tharkran, shiv temple Lehnu, Battal and shiv temple Mand.

According to the Associated News Bureau, the occasion, marked by joyous celebrations, also serves as a platform to inform the public about critical developmental schemes. Pathania, in his address, emphasized the significance of such events, stating that they are not just about spiritual observances but also about progressing towards a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India) by 2047.

“This is a time to realize our ‘Sankalp Pe Siddhi’—to ensure our goals for a prosperous and progressive future are met. In the coming years, India is poised to become an economic superpower, ranking in the top three globally. The goals of doubling farmers’ income, providing insurance for all, and fostering inclusive growth will be achieved in the near future,” he added.

Furthermore, Pathania spoke about the importance of Maha Shivratri as a time for spiritual growth and rejuvenation. “Such festivals symbolize not just our devotion but our commitment to national development. They are reminders of the unity and strength of our nation, showing that together we can reach new heights of progress. The mela is a perfect example of how culture and development can go hand in hand, educating citizens about the government’s initiatives while celebrating the rich heritage of our nation.”

Each year, the mela is organized as a feature of Maha Shivratri by DAHWA, led by its chairman Surat Singh, who also manages the proceedings center.

Kripal Singh, Ramesh Chander Gupta, Ved Sharma, Sudesh Sharma, and other prominent local residents were present, contributing to the festive spirit and the shared goal of advancing the community’s welfare.

Such events not only help to raise awareness about government schemes but also foster community spirit, making them essential in building a strong, informed, and empowered society.
