IPL: Rajasthan Royals defeat Chennai Super Kings by 6 runs
In the IPL cricket, Rajasthan Royals defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 6 runs at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati last night. Chasing a target of 183 runs, Chennai Super Kings scored 176 runs for the loss off six wickets in the stipulated twenty overs.
For CSK, skipper, Ruturaj Gaikwad with 63 was the top scorer.
For Rajasthan Royals, Wanindu Hasaranga scalped four wickets, while Jofra Archer and Sandeep Sharma took a wicket each.
Earlier, Chennai Super Kings won the toss and opted to bowl. Batting first, Rajasthan Royals made 182 in the stipulated twenty overs for the loss of nine wickets.
Nitish Rana who played a sensational knock of 81 off 36 balls with the help of 10 fours and 5 sixes was declared Player of the Match. For Chennai Super Kings, Khaleel Ahmed, Noor Ahmad and Matheesha Pathirana scalped two wickets each while Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja took a wicket each.
In another match yesterday, Delhi Capitals defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets. Chasing the target of 164 runs, Delhi Capitals made 166 runs for loss of three wickets in 16 overs. Earlier, opted to bat, Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 163 runs in 18.4 overs.
In today’s fixture, Mumbai Indians will take on Kolkata Knight Riders at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The match will start at 7:30 PM.
