Praveen Sood Gets One-Year Extension as CBI Director

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved a one-year extension in tenure for Shri Praveen Sood, IPS (KN:1986), as Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

The extension will be effective beyond May 24, 2025. according to the News Service Associated News Bureau ANB, This decision, referenced in DoPT/AV Division note no. 202/11/2025-AVD.II dated May 5, 2025, follows the recommendations made by the Committee and has been officially conveyed by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Department of Personnel and Training.ANB
